Savarez 520R Traditional Red Card Strong Tension Classical Guitar Strings

Saverez Traditional trebles are made of rectified nylon which is characterized by a distinctive unpolished finish. This grittiness contributes to a lessening of the high overtones. Because of their texture, the treble strings are unusually controllable with regard to vibrato and stability. The characteristics of their tone make their pitch particularly clear and true. The basses are on the warm and soft side, and their tone is strong overall.

These are my favourite strings for the best sound from my guitar.

Progressive Classical Guitar Method: For Beginner to Intermediate Students [Book 1]

I'd been playing the guitar for about a year on a steel string  acoustic when I decided to start playing classical so I bought a classical nylon guitar along with this method book from progressive. I had other progressive series books and primers, but for the classical guitar this was the best. This book has about a hundred pages or so of quality lessons and excercises. The book is all musical notations and fingerstyle lessons. It doesnt contain any TAB lines. It also contains a fretboard guitar notes diagram and a music glossary at the end of the book.If you have a passion to learn classical guitar this is the book for you.

Progressive Masterpieces of the 19th (Classical Guitar)

Jason Waldron has compiled a great set of classical guitar pieces which would make you crave for more. The CD is a big help to get that fingerpicking right. The songs are arranged (approximately) in order of difficulty and grouped according to keys. This is my first classical guitar book and ever since Ive laid Dave Matthews and the gang on the side. Im still at #21 (out of 56!) but at this stage my technique is getting finer. The songs alternate from joyful to somber, always giving a "feel" -- beyond reading and listening -- for the most romantic period in human history. It seems to me that this hobby would last a lifetime. Long live Sor and Giuliani!

Bach as a composer never actually wrote for the Classical Guitar therefore there are no Bach Classical Guitar works, however we often hear Bach Classical Guitar pieces and in fact many virtuosos play Bach as part of their repertoire. Bach Classical Guitar pieces are extremely difficult to play, because in fact they were originally written as keyboard pieces for piano, harpsichord or organ.

The fact that the pieces were written for the keyboard means that transcription is difficult, the keyboardist having 10 notes available in each chord played and the guitar a maximum of 6, so it is hard to maintain the the fullness of the keyboard version. This leads to some difficult stretches and technical difficulty in the transcribed pieces. Despite this many Bach Classical Guitar pieces are extremely popular and work very well. All the pieces included within this blog are from some of today’s guitar masters, and I really hope that you will enjoy them as much as I do.

After listening to them I know I felt compelled to go out and buy my own Classical Guitar and to get lessons and try to achieve sufficient mastery to duplicate them for myself. I truly hope that I inspire you and to just know that I may have been responsible for starting some of tomorrows great stars inspires me to further improve this site. I hope you return often, to see the changes, to leave your comments, to buy an instrument or merely enjoy the music, I know I do. So why not bookmark the site, Twitter, Digg, Stumbleupon, My Space or Facebook it to your friends and just plain enjoy the experience. I wish you all well with Guitar playing, or listening, and I hope you enjoy perusing this site as much as I have enjoyed compiling it.
