I try to avoid looking backwards and still believe that the best is ahead of me. But when I find some sepia-coloured photos in a drawer, then it’s hard not to let the memories flow. And come the notes… Here is the result. A kind of slow, melancholic and bittersweet waltz. Something that our grandparents could have danced on. With the passing-time, the music also can turn yellow.

but some traps. Intermediate 2. Please note that I use a faster tempo. It’s given Allegretto, I play rather Allegro…

The Study in A Minor by Aguado is a great little piece to practice all sorts of classical guitar skills. The fact that it’s in 2/4, or march time, seems at first, a little hard to comprehend as it doesn’t really sound like a march at all. It has the “fire” of a true Spanish piece even though it would only be classed as a “miniature” piece.
