An anonymous Peruvian Baroque piece in A minor from the Lima Manuscript of Guitar Tablature (late 18th century), originally for 6-course guitar (a transitional guitar with six pairs, or “courses”, of strings), transcribed for 10-string guitar by Viktor van Niekerk. Played live, unedited and unprocessed. (If some distortion is heard, this is due to youtube’s compression of the original file. Best to listen with headphones.)

A lesson with tablature on how to play a Spanish Classical Piece. (I used Power Tab Editor 1.7 to tab out this piece.)
The playback mode of this tab is about one third the speed of the original piece. Here a quarter note = 40 on all 4 lines compared to the actual tempo of quarter note = 128 on the first 2 lines and then down to quarter note = 108 on the last 2 lines. The range of adjustment with the software is from 40 – 300 BPM.

“The Milonga also comes originally from Spain and can be danced as well as sung. It resembles the Habanera but is faster-moving. There are two kinds of Milonga: the country version, which is sung and in which the interpreter improvises; and the town version, from Buenos Aires, which may be sung and danced. This is faster than the country version and may contain various themes: melancholy, romantic or amusing. The Milonga from my suite has a dramatic character and belongs to the country type.” (M. A. Q: What do the colors indicate?
A: This video uses “harmonic coloring,” in which each pitch class (C, C-sharp, D, etc.) is a different color, with the colors being assigned according to the circle of fifths. You can read more about this technique here:
