David Chidsey demonstrates the cross-string trill technique employed by classical guitarists to create a harpsichord effect. This technique helps your trills sound fast and clean and lets the notes ring together in a legato fashion. Very important for performing Baroque music on the guitar.

Video description: The P free stroke should be as loud as the P rest rest stroke although it will have a different tone quality. It is perhaps the easiest movement to learn with the right hand.
I may have mis-spoken at 1:08 in this video. What I meant to say is that all three P-joints extend together in the extension phase and flex together in flexion phase. The P middle joint doesn’t move much, but it does participate in both phases and is not static. To see all ten lessons, do a search for: classical guitar lessons murdick. Classical Guitar lesson – Barre Technique
This lesson demonstrates the common problems when using barre chords. I hope it helps those may be struggling with the technique.
You can get a PDF of “3 Exercises for Barre Technique” here -
http://classicalguitarlessons.blogspot.com/2009/02/3-excersizes-for-barre-technique.html
More videos will be added soon. Please subscribe to my channel to be notified of new videos.
Main points to remember when executing barres –
1. keep finger straight and right before the fretwire
2. make sure finger is not “curled” in the middle – this causes buzzing on the inner strings
3. keep elbow behind the barre and use the weight of the arm to press (not just the thumb and fingers)
